Johannn's parentage is unknown. He was born either in Oberdorf or Habratsweiler. The coat of arms of the kingdom of Württemberg is shown here.
Johann first married Agatha Bucher, who was born in Oberdorf, and had been married previously. Johann and Agatha married on 27 November 1731, probably in Oberdorf.
It is not known if the union produced any children. Agatha died on 1 September 1737.
Johann remarried to Catharina Brugger on 15 October 1737 in Oberdorf.
In 1754, Johann and Catharina had Johann Ammann.
He is recorded as having sold a vineyard for 44 florins in 1762.
Johann died at age 58.
