Johann was the son of Johann Ammon and his second wife, Catharina Brugger.
Johann married Barbara Brugger before 1776.
In 1776, Johann and Barbara had Maria Anna Ammann.
Their daughter was born in Oberdorf, Württemberg, so the family probably lived there during that period. The coat of arms of the kingdom is shown here.
After Barbara's death in 1800, Johann remarried to Maria Lanz on 20 July 1801. It is not known if this union produced any children.
Maria died on 27 April 1822.
