Sebastianus' parentage and place of origin are unknown.
(He may be the same Sebastian Jung who was born on 19 December 1710 to Michael and Margaretha Jung of Selbach, but the evidence for this is circumstantial only.)
Sebastian married Maria Hans on 2 July 1743 in Bliesen. The coat of arms of the village is shown here.
Between 1744 and 1760, Sebastian and Maria had nine children, including Mathias Jung.
Their children were born in Niederhofen, so the family lived there during that period.
