Maria's parentage and place of origin are unknown, although her maiden name was Hans.

Maria married Sebastian Jung on 2 July 1743 in Bliesen. The coat of arms of the village is shown here.

Between 1744 and 1760, Sebastian and Maria had nine children:

    He married Anna Margaretha Altmann (b. ca 1746)

  7. Gertrudis (b. 20 Dec 1755)
  8. Wendelinus (20 Nov 1758 - 17 Feb 1829)
    He married Barbara Glauber (b. 26 Aug 1752)
    A grandson, Sebastian John Jung (1825-1901), emigrated in 1857/58 and lived in Chicago, where he married Maria Anna Dexler (1843-1915).
  9. Casparus (b. 23 Oct 1760)

Their children were born in Niederhofen, so the family lived there during that period.
