Maria's parentage is unknown, although her maiden name was Schneider.

Maria married Jakob Schmidt on 3 February 1728 in Bliesen. The coat of arms of the village is shown here.

Between 1730 and 1732, Jakob and Maria had two children:

1. Anna Maria (9 Jul 1730 - 16 Sep 1793)
   She married Jakobus Wagner (1725-1797)
2. Katharina (b. 10 Dec 1732)

Maria died just thirteen days after the birth of Katharina, so it is likely that the cause was complications from childbirth. She probably died in her twenties.
