Jakob married Maria Schneider on 3 February 1728 in Bliesen.

Between 1730 and 1732, Jakob and Maria had two children, including Anna Maria Schmidt.

Maria died after less than five years of marriage, and it is not known if Jakob remarried. He probably died in his eighties.
