Henrica Aleida Meyering

Henrica was the eldest of five children of Gerhardus van Oepen and Johanna Schroers of Stenern.

Henrica married Johannes Bernhard Meyering on 6 November 1819 in Bocholt. The coat of arms of the town is shown here.

Between 1820 and 1839, Johannes and Henrica had eight children:

  1. Theodora (13 Mar 1820 - 9 May 1872)
    She married Henricus Wilhelmus Heeks (1819-1884)
    A son, John Henry Heeks (1861-1951), emigrated and lived in Rochester, New York.
  2. Henricus (b. 13 Nov 1822)
  3. Josef Anton (3 Jun 1825 - 8 Jan 1914)
    He married Christina.
  4. Johannes (John) (3 Nov 1827 - 2 Aug 1875)
    He married Anna Christina Elizabeth Meiner (1832-1855/57)
    John and Anna emigrated in 1847, and lived in Minster, Auglaize County, Ohio.
    After the death of Anna, John remarried to Elizabeth Borgess (1832/33-1907) and lived in Toledo, Ohio.
    He worked as an engineer and died as the result of a boiler explosion.
  5. Gerhardus (b. 22 Apr 1830)
    He married Maria Adelheid Nienhaus
  6. Herman Joseph (Joe) (18 Apr 1833 - 5 Oct 1883)
    He married Ursula Shears (1840-1913)
  7. Johanna Maria (15 Apr 1836 - 29 Mar 1879)
  8. Johann Bernard (b. 28 May 1839)

Henrica died at age 54.
