Bernhardus (Bernt) Meÿering Born: circa 1700 Holtwick, Bishopric of Münster Died: after 1743 (probably) Holtwick, Bishopric of Münster

Bernhardus' parentage is unknown. He was born in Holtwick. His last name was originally Horning or Horninck. Apparently, it was a custom that when a man with no farm married an heiress with a farm, he adopted the name of his bride.

Bernhardus married Anna Te Gildehus on 4 November 1719, probably in Bocholt. The coat of arms of the city is shown here.

Between 1721 and 1743, Bernhardus and Anna had seven children, including Johannes Henrich Meyering.
