Wendelin Gillen Born: 22 October 1730 Heisterberg, Duchy of Lorraine Died: after 1779 (probably) Heisterberg

Wendelin was the youngest of three children of Johann Gillen and his father's first wife, Anna Margaretha Maßing. The coat of arms for the municipality of Namborn, which includes Heisterberg, is shown here.

Wendelin married Ann Knüppel on either 13 or 22 February 1757, possibly in St. Wendel.

Between 1759 and 1779, Wendelin and Anna had seven children, including Johannes Gillen.

At least two of Wendelin and Anna's children were born in Heisterberg, so the family lived there during that period.
